Well what a great year we have had at Aspera ! Myself coming 3rd at the English groomer competion in June with the fabulous Daisy the labradoodle in advanced grooming class and again gaining 3Rd with Barney the gorgeous English cocker also in the Advanced class at Groomer Of the Year and Helen winning her class with my very own lhasa apso Ethel !! Also at Groomer of the Year. Iwould like to thank Alison Crain (Daisy ) and Tony Thornton (Barney) for their continued support !

A Poem for Dog Groomers!

Favourite Things

Clipping toe nails, and risk getting bitten,
Feisty wee kittens and gauntlets for mittens.
Anal glands stinking, and ear holes that ‘Ming’,
These are a few, of our favourite things.

Twenty year old poodles and fat lazy Springer’s
Warty old cockers … that’s just the beginning…
Customers that wait and Tibetans that sing,
These are a few of our favourite things.

Grass seeds in feet and long matted feathers,
Bad breath in abundance and smelly ear leathers,
Barking so loud it would make your ears ring,
These are a few of our favourite things.

Lumps and bumps and manky old skin,
Get so soaked when bathing may as well have got in!
You have to admit though; it does make you grin,
‘Cause grooming is one of our favourite things.

When the make over’s done and you feel quite excited,
And the owner is outwardly pleased…. no delighted!
The pride that you feel … well you know what I mean?

10 Reasons your Dogs Haircut costs more than yours

People sometimes ask how is it possible that it costs more to have your dog’s hair cut than a human’s.

You don’t go to the Hairdressers with your hair ‘booby trapped’ with burs and prickles etc.
Your Hairdresser would never clean your butt!
The clippers, scissors, dryers etc; is not your sworn enemy!
You don’t fart in your Hairdressers face when she takes a closer look!
Your Hairdresser would not touch your hair on head if you had Fleas, Lice, or Ticks.
You don’t wait till your clean then force out a poo and site in it!
Your Hairdresser doesn’t have to lift you into the bath whilst trying desperately to hold onto the floor!
You don’t lick your Hairdressers face when she’s cutting your hair!
You don’t erupt into full unstoppable song until your mum comes to get you.
You don’t try to scratch the skin of your Hairdressers arms whilst she’s trimming your head!
